Come out and learn about the benefits of composting and how this seemingly small commitment can have a BIG impact on our environment! After the presentation, we will show you how to build a variety of compost containers! If you would like to purchase a 55 gal. drum compost container (ideal for small yards or rental properties), we will have those available to purchase for an additional $15.00 each.

Bats & DIY Bat House Build, Saturday October 31st, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.:
For this program: On this spooky day, let’s learn more about bats and the vital role they play in our local ecosystem. After our presentation, we will work together to build each participant their very own bat house to take home! All materials and tools will be provided! This program is ideal for older teens and adults who are comfortable using a cordless power drill.

CANCELED Upcycled Holiday Gifting & Ornament Craft (FREE!), December, Wednesday December 9th 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.:
Spend an afternoon with us at the Bettman Resource Center, all done up in holiday cheer! Learn how to create fun upcycled gifts using materials you may already have on hand. Create a trendy ornament out of single use plastic straws in the traditional Himmeli style! Save your straws to bring with you or use ones provided.

DIY Rain Barrel,  Saturday, March 20, 2021, 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.,:
Celebrate World Water Day 2021 and learn how to create your own rain barrel! Diverting storm water to help water your yard and gardens can have a huge positive effect by reducing municipal water usage. Registration price includes a 55 gal. drum and all the necessary pieces to hook up your new rain barrel!

World Bee Day & DIY Bee House Build!, Thurs. May 20th, 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.:
On World Bee Day, Enjoy a tour of the beautiful pollinator gardens at the Bettman Natural Resource Center and learn how to identify bees as they busily buzz about! The program concludes with an outdoor craft workshop. Each participant will create their own "Bee Hotel" to take home and place in their gardens for our sleepy pollinator pals!

By signing this agreement, I acknowledge the contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assume the risk that my child(ren) and I and other members of my household may be exposed to, or infected by COVID-19 by attending the Parks program, and that such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, permanent disability, and death. I understand that the risk of becoming exposed to or infected by COVID-19 at the Parks program may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of myself and others, including, but not limited to, Parks employees, volunteers, and program participants and their families. I understand that, based on the inherent natures of children and children’s activities, it is likely impossible to prevent all potential sources of transmission of COVID-19 despite all reasonable efforts of the Parks.

I voluntarily agree to assume all of the foregoing risks and accept sole responsibility for any injury to my child(ren), myself, or members of my household including, but not limited to, personal injury, disability, and death, illness, damage, loss, claim, liability, or expense, of any kind, that I or my child(ren) or members of my household may experience or incur in connection with my child(ren)’s attendance at the Parks program. On my behalf, and on behalf of my child(ren) and members of my household, I hereby release, covenant not to sue, discharge, and hold harmless Parks, its employees, agents, and representatives, of and from any and all claims, including all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs or expenses of any kind arising out of or relating thereto as a result of my child(ren)’s attendance at the Parks program. I understand and agree that this release includes any claims based on the actions, omissions, or negligence of Parks, its employees, agents, and representatives, whether a COVID-19 infection occurs before, during, or after participation in any Parks program.

-I hereby release and save harmless the Cincinnati Board of Park Commissioners and its employees from any and all liability for any injuries, loss, or other claims arising out of this program.

- I give permission for my family/ organized group to be photographed and for his/her picture to be used without identification or compensation in Park publications.
-Fees are non-refundable. Fees can be transferred to the other event day if spaces are available at the requested time.

-In the event that the program is either cancelled or postponed, Cincinnati Parks will make every effort to contact every patron via e-mail, time permitting. While we regret the inconvenience caused by these circumstances, Cincinnati Parks cannot be held responsible for any cost or damage such postponement or cancellation may incur. Similarly, Cincinnati Park Board commissioners and employees cannot be held responsible or liable for injuries, loss or damages incurred by patrons while attending these events. All patrons purchasing from Cincinnati Parks must do so in the light of the above limitations.

-Refunds on registrations for a canceled program/event can be placed back into your credit card. In all instances when a registration is refunded, only the cost of the program fee is refunded, not the administrative fee.
