(For Planning Purposes Only)
*Age-appropriate camps will appear once camper's age and grade have been filled in.*
Summer Camp Age Calculation Policy:
When calculating birthdays for summer camp the Explore Nature policy is that the child MUST be the correct age on the FIRST day of the camp, i.e. if the camp is for 6, 7 and 8-year-olds, the child must be 6 on the first day of camp.
Also, when calculating birthdays for the latter half of the week of a summer camp the Explore Nature policy is that the child may “age out” of the camp on the last day of camp, i.e. if the camp is for 12-, 13- and 14-year-olds, but the child turns 15 on the last day of camp, that is acceptable.
For Nature Camps in the Parks, kids need to be entering 1st grade AND need to be 6 years of age by September 30, 2024. Kids that have not completed kindergarten are asked to sign up for the Discovery Mornings program.
For Nature Center Camps, all three nature centers offer all-day camps for 6–8-year-olds. Six-year-olds must have completed Kindergarten and entering first grade to attend. If a child has not yet attended kindergarten, they will be asked to sign-up for a half-day program.
1. You must enter the correct age and school year for camps to appear. If nothing appears please check the camper information above at the beginning of the application. Only age-appropriate camps appear based on the camper's birthday.
2. Make sure to press Clear Selection to see other available camps.
Summer Camp Age policy can be found in the 2024 Summer Camp Overview Document linked above.
