Stephenson Sisters’ Scholarship Fund - 2024 Summer Camp Application

Celebrating the Legacy of the Stephenson Sisters

 Join us in celebrating the inspiring legacy of Erin Morris and the Stephenson Sisters through the Stephenson Sisters’ Scholarship Fund. Established by the Cincinnati Parks Foundation, this scholarship aims to provide families with the opportunity to attend the Cincinnati Parks Explore Nature Summer Day Camps.

 Eligibility Criteria

  • Children aged 3.5–15 years.
  • Must demonstrate financial need.
  • Resident of the city of Cincinnati.
  • One application per child to cover one week of summer camp.


Application Requirements

1. All summer camp registration information for the camper, including the contact information for the parent or guardian.  This will allow us to enroll your child in summer camps without needing a separate registration form. 

2. Proof of Assistance (POA): Upload or email one of the following documents:

  • Medicaid benefits for the child receiving the scholarship.
  • Proof of the child’s enrollment in the federal lunch program.
  • Unemployment paperwork for the parent or legal guardian.
  • Other documents may also be considered such as other government and public assistance programs (SNAP, TANF, WIC, Section 8 housing), and other state or federal assistance programs OR written documentation from schools, non-profits, or community organizations verifying financial need, such as utility assistance or letters from community assistance programs.

Application Deadline

 Applications are due by Friday, May 24 @ 9:00 a.m. (EST).

Scholarship Award Process

Scholarship spots are awarded based on the order in which we receive completed applications, including all required supporting documents. It's crucial to ensure your application is fully complete upon submission. Please be aware that scholarship spots are not guaranteed.

APPLICATION PROCESS 

Please read and follow the instructions below: 


1. Upload Proof of Need: Begin your application by uploading documents that demonstrate your financial need. Pictures are acceptable. 


2. Fill Out the Application: Complete the application form with the required personal and contact information of the applicant. Ensure all details are accurate and up-to-date. 


3. Select Age-Appropriate Camps: Review the Summer Camp Overview Document and choose your preferred camps in order of priority. Please ensure that the camps you select are suitable for your child’s age or grade. 2024 Summer Camp Overview Document.pdf


4. Application Submission and Notification: Upon submitting your application, you will receive an email notification regarding the scholarship award status and the specific camp your child has been assigned. We will reserve this spot for your camper for up to two weeks.


5. Confirm Selection and Partial Payment: Once awarded a scholarship, you will need to confirm your camp selection. You will be responsible for covering up to 20% of the camp cost, up to a maximum of $30 per child. Payment can be made via cash in person, or credit card.

After your confirmation and payment are completed, your child will be officially enrolled in the camp, and you will receive a registration confirmation in your email.

Camper Information

You must fill out this section out BEFORE choosing your camps. 

*Age-appropriate camps will appear once camper's age and grade have been filled in.*


Health and Medical Information Disclosure

Disclosing Medical Health Information will not impact the scholarship process and will not be viewed by the scholarship committee. This is for the camp counselors once your child is enrolled in camp. 



Reasonable Accommodation

Cincinnati Parks is committed to providing a quality experience at all our parks and facilities by providing reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities upon request. If your child needs special assistance or accommodation such as adaptations for disabilities, cannot participate in certain activities, or if an interpreter is required, please select 'No' and complete the Special Accommodation Form. 

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all, campers are expected to:

  • Be toilet trained and able to use the toilet without assistance.
  • Stay with their assigned group with minimal reminders.
  • Be able to explore and move along natural terrain including trails, hills, and bridges. 
  • Engage appropriately in group activities and maintain self-control in social settings.


Scholarships are awarded first come first serve. Selecting "No" will not impact your ability to get a scholarship.

Please select your preferred first, second and third choice for camp registration. If your primary choice is full, the second or third choice will be selected based on availiblity.
